Camping Misadventure 1: Sunset Bay Charleston, OR

Camping Season was kicked during Memorial Day Weekend!
Myself, Michelle & Josh along with Spencer (their dog),
loaded up the Explorer and headed to the Southern Oregon Coast.

After we arrived and got camp set-up it was time to think about dinner.
Michelle and I love to cook outdoors,
weather it is on a camp stove or over the fire in a dutch oven.
One of our dinners consisted of Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Salad.
One of our breakfasts was all about the Biscuits & Gravy BAY-BAY!

Our evenings are always filled with shananigans and S'mores.
And we are not talking about just your plain 'ol S'mores.
We go gourmet with these babies!
We use all kinds of things for the insides of the S'mores.
Our favorites are Thin Mints, Reeses PB Cups, York Peppermint Patty, Heath.
We also discovered GIANT Mellows which allowed for some great extra gooeyness!

Of course we also had to do some exploring!
We checked out the local beach scenery and even found some old WWII Bunkers.
The weather was great until after we went to bed on the last night.
It had rained!  So packing up camp was so much fun!

Now we are gearing up for Camping Misadventure 2: Waldo Lake

  1. I love Sunset Bay! What fun! We also found the ginormous marshmallows and are looking forward to putting them over the fire. I also heard someone suggest EL Fudge cookies and marshmallows for Smores because of the chocolate already on the cookie. :-)
